The one thing the makes repetitive strain injury hang around for ever is very simple: the symptoms can be very counter-intuitive.

Because the symptoms are very counter-intuitive, what seems like a flare-up will, if treated properly, turn out to be the beginning of your recovery. (But if it’s not treated properly, that “flare-up” will more than likely develop as expected and become a real flare-up).
